Privacy policy

For the Pounds & Pence iPhone app and this website. You can also read it in the app: tap the logo, then Privacy policy.

In short

Pounds & Pence doesn't collect, send or share any information about you. Everything you enter stays on your iPhone, unless you choose to email me for support.

What the app keeps

The salaries and options you enter (such as your tax code, loans, pension, working week and bonus), any snapshots you save, and your settings, are kept on this device so they're there next time you open the app. They're never sent anywhere.

No accounts, tracking or adverts

There's no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party code that tracks you. Every calculation is worked out on your device.

Going online

The app goes online for one thing only: to show you this privacy policy, which it loads from poundsandpence.app. Nothing you've entered is sent with it, and no cookies are kept.

This website

This website has no cookies, analytics, adverts or third-party scripts, and its fonts are served from here. It's hosted by Google's Firebase Hosting, which, like any web server, receives your IP address and browser details when a page is requested, and may keep them in its logs to run and protect the service.

PDF summaries

Export makes a PDF of your figures on your iPhone and opens the share sheet. It goes only where you choose to send or save it.

Support messages

The Support page writes a draft email in your Mail app, to rich.kielty+pounds-and-pence-support@gmail.com. Nothing is sent unless you send it from Mail. It contains your message, the reply email address if you give one, and the app and iOS versions, which help with any problem. Your email address and message are used only to answer you, and aren't shared with anyone.

Ratings

Rate Pounds & Pence opens the app's page on the App Store. Ratings and reviews are handled by Apple there; the app doesn't see who you are or what you rate.

Backups

Like other apps' data, what the app keeps can be included in your iPhone's own backups (to iCloud or a computer), which Apple handles according to your settings.

Removing your information

Delete a snapshot by swiping left on it in the history. Deleting the app removes everything it has kept.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published here, with the date it changed.

Questions

If you have a question about this policy, use the Support page in the app.
